I observed this issue occurring again. Before restarting the services, I collected all the logs. Although the services appear to be up and running, they remain inaccessible. Hi How does the newcopy castran command works in a PAC environment?  Do I need to perform a newcopy command in each region or only once? When  I look the PPT active entry for a PPT program  I found that there is a box about PAC resident , what does it mean? How can I make a program PAC resident instead of region resident? Hi We have a CICS DB2 application running in a PAC configuration with MFES V7 linux (aacessing DB2 tables on mainframe with DB2 coonect) but this application needs to acces a diffferent set of DB2 tables during the day  and the night . Now this applicacion running in z/OS uses a Plan exit on CICS to change tge DB2 plan during the day. Under MFES we dont have this DB2 plan exit so we need to have two set of executable files (one for day grcessing and the other for night processing) The question is how to change the executable being used by MFES twice a day . I want to limit the data conversion and leverage the existing EBCDIC DB2 data to be loaded into SQL Server Database with EBCDIC collation.  The DB2 data type is very straight forward (char, varchar, decimal) and we have the similar equivalent data type in SQL Server.   I would like to use the current Micro Focus COBOL program to store/retrieve EBCDIC data from SQL Server database. Hello!! When I run the visual cobol program through batch file, I'm getting below error message and don't know how to add the mentioned error file. Load error : file 'DB2INT'error code: 173, pc=0, call=1, seg=0173 Called program file not found in drive/directory I can see the 'DB2INT.obj' and 'DB2INT.idy' files in the program main folder.  DATE3-731 in SORT SYSIN not working as expected. It resolves as C'currentdate'-731 and hence, extracting only current record. I want to extract record what was before 2 years. Any idea how can I do that? In Mainframe, it works correctly.#JCL#EnterpriseServer

Hi we define an extra partition TD queue pointing to an existing file and an existing path with initial state = open , file type=normal. print attributes= No control , I/O type=Output and Disposition =MOD But the region starts we get  CASAM2022E Error opening extra partition destination (CSSl) group(XFHOPER) status=(3,009) file=status=1 means open error  file=statis=9 means error What RTS error means? Application using a API to call Cics Web Services build as a JSON(restful)  CICS commarea deteriorates when time goes thru. Cics partition is recycled in the evening, so in the morning the results to the API come in about 200ms, as time goes thru it increases, we begin with 200 ms now at noon we have 900 ms. The program used in the cics web service seems to respond in a timely maner and keeping between 10-20 ms.  Any idea what causes this degradation ? It is working fine in older version of ES (v2.3). When we are trying to run the same recompile program in Enterprise Server V8.0, it gives the above error. Problem: How can one determine  how many parameters a COBOL program has been called with, for example "CALL 'A' USING A, B, C"? On the mainframe it is possible to use an Assembler program to search the save area chain  to find the previous save area and retrieve reg 1 from that save area.   How can this be done in COBOL? Resolution: This can be acheived by using the routine CBL_GET_PROGRAM_INFO() to walk back up the call stack.  This will determine how many parameters each program was called with.   See attached demo programs for an example of using this function.  These programs need to be compiled using the Non-Mainframe dialect in Mainframe Express 'proga' calls 'progb' with two parameters. We are using Micro Focus Enterprise Developer for Eclipse for development purpose. We are planning to use Micro Focus Assembler for Assembler compiles. I was unable to  create the load module LPROGA. I made the following changes. Hi, At our company our developers can have IDz and EDz installed on the same pc. In Idz we use AWM and related license software. This license software is the same as the one included in EDz. In IDz license software version has to be added manually to install package. In EDz license software version is part of EDz install (not managed by ourselves) Beside the client installation of License software there is also an installed version on server (used by IDz and EDz) where we have uploaded the corresponding license files Until now the version of the license software in the IDz package was never higher than the license software version of EDz Now we want to upgrade IDz from version 15.0.3 to version 16.0.3 so it seems we need to upgrade to AWM version 9 and related license software version v10000.3.19282  (= pu1 op 319272) We have no intention to upgrade EDz at this time.   Version of license software:   Current situation To Be situation License server v10000.
