I am working on a project to migrate cobol applications from IBM to Enterprise Server.  In our current IBM environment, we us IBM's (Websphere) MQ product to interface to/from Microsoft Biztalk.  I see that Enterprise Server supports MQ.  My question is:  is the MQ in Enterprise Server only meant to be used to connect with MQ on a mainframe or can it be used to replace the IBM MQ functionality for applications migrated off of the mainframe?

Hi Bruce,

Enterprise Server connects to IBM's MQ software (be that on Windows, Linux or Mainframe) via XA Module.

Enterprise Server does not replace/emulate MQ.

Kim

You can use it to connect to MQ via client or server connection for IBM MQ.

here we use it with both configs, but you need an IBM MQ.
