Studio v6.0.11063 for windows requires a file called SYSTEM.DAT to be located at
C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Application Data\\Micro Focus\\NetExpress\\6.0
or
C:\\Documents and Settings\\[user-account]\\Application Data\\Micro Focus\\NetExpress\\6.0

The other error message I was getting was "general failure on creating" a new project
and "version not found in file - cannot open existing project".

By ensuring you have the SYSTEM.dat, you'll not have this problem.

Hi BikerBob,

Have you reported this to SupportLine yet? They should be able to help.

Alternatively, try over on the "Mainframe Compatibility" Forum where the Studio EE developers & Support peeps hang out.

Thanks. Yes I reported this to supportline.
The system.dat file was present but not where it needed to be.
It would not work under "all users" it had to go under my logon name then it worked.
