hello - I'm rather new to this product and would like to learn see how it works...
i tried to build the sample program in the welcome screens tictac.cbl - and although the build appears to run correctly when i go to run the .exe - iy is no where to be found - just an .idy file...
I came to the forums to seek a solution,and i found a link to an alternate tutorial solution - there was a link to download a self extracting file, but the link is broken...
where can i turn to build an example cobol progam?
where can i find documentation on PC centric commands (I have quite a bit of MVS experience, but i'm unfamilar with some of the constructs used in the sample program...)?
Any help would be appreciated!!!

Enterprise Developer Personal Edition is a version that does not produce binaries and does not allow debugging and running of a project..
You can try all other features of the product such as creating, configuring and exploring various projects, editing files, content assist, syntax checking, and more.
If you want to try all features of Enterprise Developer, you could request a 30-days trial and activate Team Edition that includes building and debugging of projects.
You might find useful the content assist feature of the COBOL editor. It will assist you in writing COBOL code with offering you a list with keywords and statements that you can use at the current cursor position. You can invoke it by pressing Crtl Space in the COBOL editor.
I believe you will find more information on your questions in our online documentation - documentation.microfocus.com. You can look for COBOL Language Reference that includes information for the statements that you can use in a COBOL program.

With the free version you can not create an exe, but if you try the full version it will allow you too. You can activate Enterprise Developer for 30 days and see how it works. To activate, you can simply try to use the execution or debug and it will prompt for an activation. Alternatively, you can go to Help\\Micro Focus\\Product licensing and activate the 30 day trial - make sure you use the same email address used while registering.
