This article explains the licensing mechanism where a single Studio Enterprise Edition license protects eight features under it.

Problem:

Depending on what has been purchased a single Studio Enterprise Edition license can protect up to eight features under it. These are: Net Express Classic IDE, COBOL Managed Compiler, Visual Studio IDE, COBOL Native Compiler, Host Compatibility, Database Connector SQL, MTO Development and SOA Development.

Each of these features can be used by the same user or machine up to ten times. For example, a single userid can fire up a maximum of ten instances of Net Express and Visual Studio IDE at the same time. However, MTO, SOA and Database Connector are slightly different in that they are shared by the machine ID. Therefore, ten CAS MTO regions can be started at the same time before licensing failure occurs.

Resolution:

If you exceed these limits then you must contact your local sales representative to purchase additional licenses.
