We use attachmate as our emulator. I am testing scenarios with Rhumba and attachmate. The biggest set back I have is the number of printer sessions that can be opened. I have found where Rhumba maxes out around 32 and attachmate for us is maxing out around 72. We have 200 cics printers. They are not active all at once and some may not be active for weeks. So I would like to be able to dynamically open/close these printer sessions as needed.
The biggest problem with that thought is that when you manually close a printer session, the region goes into a "NOT RESPONDING" mode. At this point I have to forcably stop then reatrt the region. Not good for production. This happens with both Rhumba and Attachmate. How do I get CICS to dis-connect and re-connect printer sessions at my discretion without causing problems??
