Hi Ek,

If you had noticed, when you verify/parse/compile the code in Enterprise Analyzer, you see the status of verification being indicated by "dots" of different colors. A blue/green would mean a successful verification, a yellow would indicate warning and so on .... This process of verifying/parsing components is called validation. Invalidation would refer to a scenario where a validated object is set to invalidated status, or in simple words, the object has to be re-verified/re-parsed again.

One common reason for objects getting invalidated in EA, is that, you probably added new components that are related to the objects available in your repository. For example, let us say, you have loaded and verified a program A which in turn is using a copybook A. Assuming the copybook A was not loaded at the same time as program A, you will see a message saying "unable to open copybook A".

Now when you load the copybook A, Program A's status will be set to "invalidated", indicating it requires a re-parsing again. You will have to look at the components that are invalidated (without any dots next to them) in your workspace, and re-verify them again.

A simple way to do this is, right click on your project, select --> unverified so it selects only those components that are to be verified and you can verify them again. Hope this helps.

Thanks
