This article explains how to obtain additional trace information in the licensing system of Studio Enterprise Edition 6.0.

Problem:

If there are licensing problems within the Studio Enterprise Edition product, is it possible to obtain additional trace information that can be forwarded to a SupportLine representative for further investigation?

Resolution:

To obtain additional trace information do the following:

Windows XP

Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer and in the left hand column select Application then in the View option select Filter. In the Event Source field select Micro Focus Licensing from the drop down, click on Apply then OK. In the Action option select Export List and save log file in .txt format to a convenient folder on the local hard drive.

Windows Vista

Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer and in the left hand column select Windows Logs > Applications. In the Action drop down menu select Filter Current Log. In the Event Source field select Micro Focus Licensing from the drop down, then OK. In the Action option select Save Filtered Log File As and save log file in .txt format to a convenient folder on the local hard drive.

Forward this file on to your local SupportLine representative for investigation.
