1. Have you verified both the JCL and the program, and you are able to see the connection between job and

3. Is the program name mentioned in PROGRAM-ID the same as the one executed from Job TEST.

Thanks for your response. Please find my answers below for your questions.

1) I have verified both JCL and program. I am able to see connection from JCL to program within the project. But not program to JOB connection. For Program connections are available only to below

a) Defines program

b) Includes Copybook file

2) The same program name DOES NOT come under UNREFERRED report.

3) Program name is same as mentioned in job TEST.

Ok if the program does not come under un-referred report, it means there is some other object to invoke/refer it. And when you expand the Job TEST, you will  be able to see an entry called "executes program" having program name SAMPLE.

Then the only thing to check for is, how you are running the Orphan analysis. Ensure a) you have JCL File listed/mentioned as one of the startup objects b) click on "add matched to startup list" which will add all JCLs including TEST.JCL in the startup list c) then click on "Find legacy objects that are not reachable". If you still get the program SAMPLE in the orphan analysis report, it calls for further research to the problem, which you can check with Micro Focus supportline.
