MASSIMO CURLANDO

Hi,
I'm testing the IMS sample application because I need a reference for a client's configuration. I follow the procedure described in the manual, which requires all fields to be ASCII, but when I enter MFDEMO, the fields coming from the program aren't ASCII. I debugged the program, and they are ASCII. I'm attaching a screenshot of what I see. Can you help me? What am I doing wrong?
Thank you very much.

Hi Massimo,

To check this can you share the tutorial URL that you are following, I’d like to review that please.

Thanks, instead of ASCII what do want to have shown e.g. EBCDIC ? Have you changed the relevant compiler directives and region settings?

I have everything set to ASCII, I also used the build script included with the installation, when I run an animator I see that the data is in ASCII but on the screen they are not ASCII characters. Userid should be SYSAD. In animator I see that it is set to SYSAD and instead I see this

Hi Massimo,

Is the software you use for the 3270 session client also set to use / display ASCII?
Also what is the OS’S locale set too, if not US English try to change that in case that causing the issue.

This may require further investigation, if so then I recommend you to raise a support case to get further assistance. When raising the case please include as much information as possible, e.g. screenshots clearly explaining the problem, and your copy of all the tutorial files were the behaviour is seen so that we can recreate the behaviour, also advise the product / OS and version e.g. Enterprise Developer for Eclipse v10 PU9 on Windows 11.

Regards,
Kim
