Problem:

When using the some tools of analysis tools in the enterprise menu, there is frequently an error or a message "This tool requires an input set to operate". This message is encountered when using tools like

a)

Analyze a data item.

b)

Children of data item.  

c)

Data items from statements.

d)

Filter Set.

e)

Find related source files

                                                            Etc.

               Even though a defined scope of elements and according to the scope of the project loaded.  Seem to encounter this error message.

Resolution:

Problem with the Analysis Tools specific Analysis Tools due to the tool requiring an input set.  This means these tools are specifically requesting another set to be dropped on it.  To perform the task, one of the following can be done:

create a set within Variable Browser - find a collection of variable that needs the Analysis Tools to analyze.  Create a set of these variables by "Highlight the entire selection\\Right Mouse\\Display in Set Viewer" and then drag/drop the new Set on "Analyze a data item"

within Analysis Tools, create a set by using "name of data item" then drag/drop on to "Analyze a data item"
