Problem:
Error messages are not displayed in the sylog only the console.log.  How do I re-direct error messages to syslog deamon?
Resolution:
By default error messages are sent only to the console.log.  This is an option that can be set at installation time. It can be altered by re-running the casperm. The casperm command asks you a series of questions and prepares Enterprise Server for use.  To re-run the casperm:
1. Log in as root
2. Enter "casperm"
3. Reply "Y" to the question : "Do you want error/warning messages to be displayed via the syslog daemon (y/n)? "
4. Future messages from the Enterprise Server will be sent to the Syslog Deamon.
