Problem:

After compilation of a program, the source file cannot be opened in the MFE IDE. Trying to open the file, raises Stack Overflow error on ANIMPARS.dll.

Solution:

Could you please verify if in the project giving the error there is a .DBS file?

This is the animator Breakpoint file. It's just an XML format file (so notepad or any plain text editor can read it), but for some reason, once in a while they become corrupted (the reason for this maybe that programs have been deleted and others added to the MFE project and the DBS file was not updated).

If there is such file, delete it.

MFE will build a new one when the Animator opens. But that means you will loose your Breakpoints and will have to set new ones. So before just deleting it, print it out or move it to a new directory and rename it to .TXT so you can see where you were using Breakpoints. That way you can have a reference list when adding the new Breakpoints.
