Micro Focus Directory Services is defined as a service when you install Net Express or Enterprise Server and it will be started automatically by default when you start your machine up. This means that you can open the Enterprise Server Administration page in your machine and use it to start and stop your servers. But how do I enable my Enterprise Server server to be started automatically on startup of my machine?

Resolution:

There are 2 different things that you can do to get your Enterprise Server (ES) server automatically started on startup.

The first is to configure Micro Focus Enterprise Server Administration so it automatically starts the servers that were running when you shut the machine down (or when you stop Micro Focus Directory Services on the machine). You do this by selecting the "Restore Servers on Startup" option (under Configuration/options in the left hand side panel of your Enterprise Server Administration page).

If you want a particular server to be started automatically every time you start the machine, whether that server was running or not when you shut the machine down, change the configuration by checking "Start on System Start" on the server's "General" page in "Enterprise Server Administration".
