Problem:
Customer reports the following:
He is running Terminal Server using Remote desktop connection.
He has two projects - neither are using client side settings.
Using one project and trying to connect to the XDB Server with SQLWizard he gets a X260 Operation can not be performed on current location version. He goes to server config and he can not chenge the server version. V7 is selected and V8 is greyed out.
On the other project he checks the server version and V8 is selected and he can change the server version if he wants to because V7 is not greyed out.
He says these two projects are using different userid's (service id's is what he calls them) but he says they are identical as far as security is concerned.
Resolution:
Customer reported the install was actually a re-install which I completed last week sometime, not sure exactly when. However, I do know it was completed prior to the setting up of S602799 (the one that works).
Problem was that the following instructions were not followed:
Reinstalling Mainframe Express 3.1
If you install Mainframe Express 3.1, log in with at least one user, then uninstall Mainframe Express, you must do the following before reinstalling Mainframe Express 3.1:
Delete the Micro Focus user directory created for each user that logged in to Mainframe Express 3.1. By default, these user directories are at the following location: \\Documents and Settings\\UserProfileName\\Micro Focus\\mfuser.
Delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Micro Focus\\COBOL registry key created for each user.
Changed registry entry and now the user can make changes to the project.
