Problem:

User would like to uninstall and re-install Mainframe Express on another machine.

Resolution:

1.)

You will need to go to start>Mainframe Express V x.x > Configuration>License management system.

2.)

Check what product you will like to generate a revoke for(ex. Mainframe Express 3.1)

3.)

On the bottom right portion, you will see a button "Generate Revoke Key".

4.)

A windows prompt will be shown with the generated revoke key but do not close this window.  You will need to fill out the form at http://supportline.microfocus.com/license_request.asp?prod=MFE&type=revoke and add the revoke key where specified.

5.)

After doing so, this will free up one license to be used for another installation

6.)

Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall the product

Installation

Once the product is installed, the user will need to generate a request key to acquire the response key that gives full license.

Note: If you are installing Mainframe Express 3.0, please follow steps 1-4.  If you are installing Mainframe Express 3.1, You may begin at step 5.

1.)

Go to the support website and create a login if one is not already set up.

2.)

Once you are logged into the Micro Focus Support page, click on the Self-Service link on the left and Product Updates.

3.)

Scroll down till you see the Mainframe Express 3.0 and click the link.

4.)

Download and install the clu09all.exe.

5.)

Go to start>Mainframe Express V x.x > Configuration>License management system.

6.)

Check the box next to the product you wish to generate a full license for.

7.)

Click on generate full license button towards the bottom middle of the window.

8.)

A window will appear with a request key followed by an empty text field.  Go to the following URL http://supportline.microfocus.com/license_request.asp?prod=MFE&type=request and copy/paste the request key where specified.

9.)

Once the response key is generated, go back to the window with the request key and copy\\paste into the text field under the request key.

10.)

The license will not be set as a full license.
