This article explains that using Mainframe Express EE 3.1 with Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2 requires installation of a new cut of the base Mainframe Express EE 3.1.
Problem:
Older CD releases of the Mainframe Express EE 3.1 base product will not install on Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2. How can this be resolved?
Resolution:
Installation of Mainframe Express EE 3.1 on Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2 requires the re-cut version of the product, released in June 2009. Installation CDs of MFE EE 3.1 issued prior to that date will not install on Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2. Once the installation of the re-cut product is complete, you will be able to apply product updates without any further changes. To obtain a copy of the re-cut product, you should contact your Micro Focus Sales representative.
