Hi,

I would like to know if there are any tools/Utility available which can compare the VSAM file generated on Mainframe with a VSAM file created on MicroFocus. Basically, we need to validate the VSAM data is equivalent with the source when the source code…

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Betsy,

Using Data File Tools that ships with Enterprise Developer you can compare data files, see following documentation URL for information:

Hello Kim,

Thank you for your guidance. I believe this option can be used only from a Windows platform. If the VSAM files are in a UNIX environment, is it possible to execute the compare using any Micro Focus CLI command/tools ?

Thanks and Regards,

Betsy

Hi Betsy,

Does the VSAM file generated on Mainframe have to reside there, or can you download the file, then compare using Data File Tools (on Windows)? Can that serve as an alternative solution?

With regards to CLI commands I recommend you to review this documentation page to see which utilities are available: https://redirector.microfocus.com/documentation/visual-cobol/vc50/EclWin/index.html?t=BKCACASERVU007.html
