Problem

When using XDB Client options in Mainframe Express, the dialogue loses focus and eventually times out, what could cause this and how can this be resolved?

To expand on this, within Mainframe Express, from the OPTIONS menu, choose "SQL for DB2", then choose "Client".   Open any tab and try to amend something.  Now click OK.

At this point the OPTIONS dialogue window, loses focus and a timer is visible, until the options dialogue finally crashes.

Resolution

The problem is caused by a corrupt or incomplete XDB.INI file.

The last line of the XDB.INI file, must always be a blank line, with a carriage return <c/r> on the previous line.

Attached is a corrupt XDB.INI file (corrupt-failing.XDB.INI), and a "good"  XDB.INI file (working-XDB.INI).
