Where does the output print from an IMS transaction go?

Problem:

An IMS transaction can produce reports by inserting messages to a "Print" PCB - where do these messages go?

Resolution:

In the Mainframe Express IDE, go to the IMS tab and right-click on Printers/LTERMs to Add a New Printer.  Add the Printer definition and save.

The output print file will be called IMS3270P.LST and will be placed in the Project directory.  You can change the name of the print file to be IMS-xxxx.LST by checking the box Separate MFS Print Output by Application Region ID in the TM/MFS tab of IMS Properties.  The xxxx are replaced by the Application Region ID.

Alternatively, you can click the View Printer Output at Session Close box in TM/MFS settings and the printer output will be displayed in the IMS tab.
