We had recently upgraded to iSeries OS V7R2 , and about the same time it was reported by our end users (Rumba version 9.4) that they were experiencing 'latency', 'slowness' 'missing character'( when typing quickly on the keyboard a character would not show up in the monitor .  typing on keyboard "ABCD" ... but only "ABD" display . this slowness is exhibited before pressing the <ENTER> key.

Has anybody else seen an issue like this?

Thanks

Jon

very interesting that your company is having the same post OS upgrade latency issues with micro focus RUMBA, has your company opened a ticket with Micro Focus?

Hi Jon, Hi princemonga,

that is certainly unexpected behaviour.

Normally Alphanumeric characters are not sent to the host while typing them into the presentation space, so the version of OS400 shouldn't really have any effect.

Can you ensure that the "Keyboard Auto Reset" is unchecked (maybe the host upgrade, has modified some of your screens, and we are not hitting a keyboard lock, but it's being Auto Reset so it goes unnoticed).

Also, (things which should be Host OS agnostic) for good measure turn off "Type Ahead" (also on the same "General" tab) and disable Hotspots (both Default and User) if you have enabled them (on the "Tools" | "Hotspots" | "General" tab ).

Then see if you can reproduce the issue.

Either way one of you should open a Supportline ticket so the issue can be investigated. It's highly likely that traces will be required (Rumba traces and possible also ProcMon traces).

Once the issue has be raised and the underlying issue identified (and addressed), then we can publish the findings / solution on this thread.

Regards,
Tom
