Problem:
AS/400 file transfer utility is not displaying sub folders of a mapped network drive if local C drive is hidden.
Resolution:
Some administrators may need to hide local C drive for users through group policy. In that scenario Rumba AS/400 file transfer utility may not allow the user to navigate into a mapped drive's folders. Please execute the following steps in order for AS/400 file transfer utility to allow users to navigate to a mapped drive folders:
- Open your AS/400 file transfer file (.rto) with Notepad
- Find the following option PCNAME and change its value to a UNC path. For instance, if you want your transfer output file (myFileTransferOutput.xls ) to be saved on a network drive MyNetworkShare then change the following PCNAME option's value from PCNAME=r:\\myFileTransferOutput.xls to a UNC path: PCNAME=\\\\MyNetworkShare\\myFileTransferOutput.xls and save the transfer file.
- Now launch the RTO file with the AS/400 file transfer utility and you should be able to view the sub folders of your network drive.
