We are getting the following error when trying to connect to AS400 through RUMBA/BDE. We are using the 'RUMBA AS/400 Optimized Server' driver.

Alias is not currently opened.General SQL error. Data source rejected establishment of connection.  APPC Primary RC = Allocation_Error;Secondary RC = Allocation_Failure_No_Retry.

Any thoughts on what could be the cause?

Hi muthubrk,

You may need to only a ticket on this via Supportline. I have had mixed success.

If I configure the ODBC drivers to use a TCPIP connection I can successfully connect to an AS400 from MS Excel.

However if I configure ODBC to use an MPTN connection I get the following error when attempting to open an ODBC connection

I can however use the MPTN connection to successfully connect a Display Terminal. So some troubleshooting is going to be required and this is best done off line as it will involve trace reading, debugging etc.
