I’d like to update my copy of Rocket Terminal Emulator from 10.1 to 10.3. However:

  • RTE 1.0 help says “Download the Rocket TE CD image”, but it doesn’t say where to download it from.
  • The only download page I could find is one that offers a 30-day trial and requires an email address, name, etc.
  • Rocket Terminal Emulator is not listed on www.rocketsoftware/en-us/products.
  • Even in this forum, “Rocket Host Access” is the closest product name I could find.

Where do I find a copy to download? Thanks.

Hi Tony,

You can download the software from the Rocket Community Portal under the Downloads section.

The latest version is 10.3.1.2, which was released this week.

Hope that helps! If you run into any issues with the download or installation, please open a case through the same Rocket Community Portal, and we'll be happy to assist.

Best Regards,

Ben Willoughby

Thanks for your help, Ben. I find it to be super weird that you can’t just download new versions via a dedicated web page that’s findable with a search engine, but I guess that’s part and parcel of RTE not showing up on your products web page at all.

Anyway, I tried to install the thing and failed. Mid-install it complained about being unable to find a file called bzstring.dll. The install appeared to complete regardless, but when the program ran for the first time, it threw up a bunch more “unable to find” message windows; and while the terminal did connect to the host, a right-click on the screen did nothing, nor did clicking on any of the buttons.

It all felt like a debacle, so I uninstalled it (had to reboot) and went back to 10.1. Or tried to, anyway - my configuration folder was deleted as part of the uninstall. I’m in the process now of restoring it with OneDrive.

So I did have issues with the download (where is it?) and the install (what the...), but I’m not interested in following up. I’m too busy getting back to where I was.

Hello Tony,

I'm sorry to hear that the installation failed. I have opened case 0102404 on your behalf so we can investigate this issue further.

Let's continue troubleshooting through the support case. You will receive an email shortly regarding the case. Please reply to that email thread for any updates or additional information related to this issue.

Thank you.
