I am moving from Bluezone to Rocket TE and do not have macros in Rocket.  Is there a means to convert my bluezone VBA macros to a script that can be used with Rocket TE?

Hi @djdelimat, thanks for reaching out! I’ve moved your question to this Host Access-specific forum, as there are more folks using Rocket TE here. More likely folks will see your message here :)

Hi @djdelimat ,

when you are currently using BlueZone Desktop and you want to upgrade to Rocket TE there are two possible scenarios:

1 Move from BlueZone Desktop to Rocket TE Desktop

This is the easy path, you can just upgrade your current BlueZone Desktop version to the latest Rocket TE Desktop version.  BBS macros (use a subset of VBS and VBA) are still supported in Rocket TE Desktop. If you are using pure VBA you need to get the Rocket TE Desktop VBA licenses.

2 Move from BlueZone Desktop to Rocket TE Web

If you are using the BBS scripts in BlueZone you can import and run them in Rocket TE Web, but you cannot modify them or create new ones. Pure VBA macros are not supported in Rocket TE Web and need to be transformed to BBS or need to be recreated in Rocket TE Web.

Please let me know if that answers your question.

Thanks,

Harald

Harald, thank you that helps some.

My Bluezone Macros are visual basic macros and the file extensions are .bvp

I have exported them as .bas files and have been copying them over to rocket with Rocket TE Script Host and Debugger.  I do not see the Macros in my companies version of Rocket TE v10.3 menu anymore.  :(

I have some macros that call variable files and I am struggling to get them converted to scripts.  Also not seeing where I can call from a sub a function that I had been able to do with visual basic macros from bluezone.

We are using desktop version of Rocket TE Mainframe display so not the web one you had mentioned.

Hi @djdelimat ,

there is no need to export the VBA macros from BlueZone. You had the VBA components in BlueZone and should also have them in RTE Desktop. If they are missing in the Macro menu maybe they are not installed of the feature is not enabled in the license. Please contact Rocket Support in that case to get the license and the binaries if necessary.

Once the VBA macros are enabled in RTE Desktop 10.3 you should be able to open them as in BlueZone.

Regards,

Harald
