With the withdrawal of support for Internet Explorer 11 and ActiveX, together with the restriction of Java applets by modern browsers, Web-to-Host includes the Host Access Web Launcher (HAWL) as an alternate means of running host sessions.

The HAWL provides the new ability to run the same host sessions using Chrome, Edge, or Firefox browsers.  When you start a Web-to-Host session from a supported browser, the HAWL starts and opens the Web-to-Host session itself.

 Supported browsers

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox

Note: If you use Internet Explorer 11, Web-to-host performs as normal, without the need to use the HAWL.

Prerequisites

  • Web-to-Host Server 6.9.2 or higher
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.1
