My company's data security team is evaluating Extra! X-treme 9.6 and have a few basic questions.

  1. Can the file transfer options / Reflections Secure FTP be disabled for all users?  That is, if we wanted set a default option such that Extra! was not able to transfer data to and from the mainframe, is that possible?
  2. Are there plug-ins like Java or Active X that are no longer supported?

If anyone either knows the answer to these or can direct me to relevant documentation, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hi Dan,

The latest version of Extra! Xtreme is 9.7 which was released in May 2023.  Contact your account team to get the latest version of the software for evaluation.  The documentation for Extra! can be found here.

For question 1, the answer is that these options can be disabled.  You can find guidance for this in the User Guide.

2. The product does not contain Java or Active X components.

Thanks,

Jeff B
