I use Rumba macros to run smoke tests in my different test environments. The last macro command for each environment is a Message command to pause the macro and identify the region so I have time to see the results. Rumba 8.2 just blows right past the message without ever displaying the dialog box so I can't tell which region I'm looking at without counting them as they go by. Is anyone else having similar issues? Is there any known plan to fix the macro processing?

I'm also having an issue where the lower left corner of the window doesn't refresh. Not a constant problem, but frequent.

I have tried adding a toolbar button to execute a macro. I can't add a button for for one of my own macros. I added a run macro button attempting to add a custom macro button, but there is no delete function to remove the extra button.

JXK2362,

Have tried to reproduce the Message error in the current RUMBA version (9.0) but each time the Macro Script stops at the Message line.  It has stopped in the middle of Macro Execution and then an "OK" let the macro continue, t

Jxk2362,

Have tried to recreate the Macro / message issue on the latest version of RUMBA, RUMBA9.  In each instance, I have received the POPUP message that prompts me for an OK to continue.  This has occurred in both the middle of a macro’s execution and at the end of the command strings.   In both cases, I have to strike “OK” in the message window to continue execution.   You may wish to log a support call to look further into the situation.

With the toolbar, there is a means to delete unused or old icons.  With the toolbar edit window open, “Right Click” on the Icon you wish to remove on the toolbar.  A menu should popup that gives you the option to delete it.

Opening the toolbar edit window worked for cleaning up the toolbar.

The fact that the message command works for Rumba 9.0 is not relevent to my problem because I have verison 8.2. The message command also worked in versions previous to 8.0.

I have fortunately been able to get in contact with the support group using the number provided, thank you for that. I have opened an incident so hopefully they will be able to help with the Message command problem.

The issue turned out to be the use of the profile file from the earlier version of Rumba. When I upgraded to 8.2 I saved my profile file from the prior version and used that to start up 8.2. Something in the old profile prevented the message macro command from working. I started with a new profile and set it up the same as the old one using the proper menu selections and the message macro command has worked fine ever since.

So the lesson here is that you must build up your profile from scratch when you upgrade to a newer version of Rumba. If you try to carry your old profile file forward you may have unexpected results.

Perhaps Micro Focus might consider creating a profile converter and making it available as a download for folks who upgrade. Depending on the amount of customizing, recreating a profile from scratch can be very lengthly and tedious.
