Is there a way to have the output go directly into a notepad or wordpad so that I can copy any of the information to paste into other applications?

notepad and wordpad does not provide the needed com interface.
Find an application you want to interact with that supports an OLE Automation interface.
E.g Word and Excel..

If no one has a good VB solution to this for you. I have a lot of my AS400 screen scraping scripts dump straight to the clipboard. Its written in AHK and communicates over DDE backend.
Most Common Windows Msgbox's let you hit Ctrl C and it will copy the contents of the box. Clipboard will then include and ascii representation of the box.
