You guys will know better than I as to whether what I'm suggesting/asking for has all sorts of complications that I'm not aware of. 

I use the Play Transfer List  a lot to transfer 2 mainframe files to the PC for comparison using Beyond Compare.

What I notice a lot is that my connection drops quite a lot (I'm guessing a timeout, which is understandable).

My "problem" is that I click on the Play Transfer List , select the file I'm using, and ..... nothing happens (because I've been disconnected).

When that happens, I know I need to reconnect and I'm up and running again.

How difficult would it be to "notice" that there is no connection and, say, change the Play Transfer List icon to red or similar?

Unless it's staring me in the face, I can't seem to see anything on the screen that indicates my connection has been dropped.
