The user gets “The session <session_name> has encountered a critical problem and needs to close” error when launching Rumba 8.0 session on Windows 7.

This problem is a result of installing Rumba 8.0 on a Windows 7 computer that had a previous Rumba version installed on it.  The solution for this problem is to import the registry fix provided by Micro Focus. Please contact Micro Focus technical support and request Rumba 8.0 registry fix. We strongly recommend backing up your registry before applying this registry fix.

Please note that Micro Focus does not recommend or support installing Rumba 7.5.2 or an earlier version on Windows 7.  At this time, Rumba 8.0 is the only version which is designed and tested under Windows 7. You may be able to install and run a previous version of Rumba on Windows 7, but be aware that you may encounter problems that Micro Focus support may not be able to resolve. If for some reason you wish to continue using your current Rumba version then we strongly recommend installing and running it on a computer that is not running Windows 7.
