Problem:  Installation fails in Win7 when C Runtime 12.0.40660 is present

Scenario:

  1. Have Windows 7 with C Runtime version 12.0.40660 installed.
  2. Run the Rumba 9.5 Office setup program.
  3. The Installer complains about a missing C Runtime and provides a link to download version 12.0.30501.
  4. After successfully installing the C Runtime, the Rumba installer still complains about the missing C Runtime.
  5. If the user attempts to use the RumbaPrerequisites.exe as a workaround it suggests to install C Rumtime 12.0.21005, however the installation of this Runtime fails.

Only after removing  ALL existing C Runtime versions and re-running the RumbaPrerequisites.exe, does Rumba  install properly. However, now all programs who rely on a runtime higher than 12.0.21005 won’t work until those runtimes are installed again.

Alternatively, a workaround may be used as follows:

Install Rumba from the command line and pass the value of VCREDIST_FOUND as follows:

%installPackageDir%\\Rumba_Office.exe /v"VCREDIST_FOUND="Yes" "

This should skip the VCRedist 2013 check and install Rumba without it.

Rumba will run fine with the already installed C Runtime version 12.0.40660.
