Problem:

RUMBA AS/400 File Transfer only downloads 16,383 records despite the host reporting many more records in the file.

Resolution:

This is a feature required for earlier versions of Microsoft Excel, which had a maximum limit of 16,384 rows. If File Transfer created an Excel spreadsheet with more rows than the format supported, Excel would crash or report an error when loading the file.

To force File Transfer to create a longer .XLS file:

1. From the Transfer menu, choose PC Options.
2. Uncheck the Limit MS Excel Records option.
3. Start the transfer again.

You can then load the new file in a current version of Excel.
