Does Rumba 9.4 support TN3270 over SSH?
SSH appears as an Active Protocols option next to SSL/TLS, but it is grayed out and can't be selected.

Hi,
SSH over TN3270 is not supported in RUMBA.
SSH is greyed out and and only available in the RUMBA Unix Display.
You would need a SSH Server for IBM z/OS on the mainframe to establish a TN3270 application connection.over ssh.
Do you have a SSH for z/OS up and running ?
The standard is SSL/TLS.
Enabling SSL/TLS uses Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security protocol to encrypt the session data stream to a host capable of supporting SSL/TLS communication.
It also verifies that the contents of each packet are unaltered between client and host.
Hope this helps
/Andre

In my experience, TN3270 over SSH is extremely rare. Nearly everyone uses TN3270 over TLS for secure TN3270.
The only SSH-enabled TN3270 server I'm aware of is the Tectia one. I've never used it myself.
Why are you looking for TN3270 over SSH?

I was just investigating options. Someone in management questioned whether TN3270 over TLS was the right approach, and suggested tunneling over SSH as an alternative. It turned out he didn't just understand TLS all that well ;-)
