Rocket MultiValue

We ran into this recently and I thought I'd share. In the legacy/character version of our software, we normally prompt for dates using a two digit year (mm-dd-yy), iconving and oconving as needed.  Recently, a user entered "12-31-33" as a date.  The iconv returned -12418 (12-31-1933) rather than the expected value of 24107 (12-31-2033).  After researching this we discovered that Pick/Rocket and QM both default to dates entered with 2 digit years greater than 30 to be in the 1900's, years less than 30 as assumed to be in the 2000's  Note: iconving a date with a 4 digit year always returns the correct value..  QM does have a config setting that will allow you to override the cutoff, however rather than remembering to change the config setting every few years on every user system, we opted to add code to our legacy system that checks the iconv'ed value and adjusts it as needed.------------------------------Ben CramerOwnerDealer Solutions LLCMansfield TX US------------------------------

I don't understand how MVIS pooled license work. Can I assume that a single pool license can hold a certain number of user licenses for use with MVIS out of all of the user licenses on the system? If I have a single application on my server does it only require a single pooled license? What if for some reason my API call takes longer than expected, does that prevent other users from connecting to MVIS site?How can I calculate the optimum number of pooled licenses I need to effectively run my new MVIS system?Jon

in the past as these are test VM's running rocky linux on my personal laptop I usually just disable the firewall so I can use ext admin tool to create accounts and suchbut if I wanted to keep the firewall up what ports do I need to open up so I can still access via ext admin tool?thanks

We are currently running UniData 8.2 on AIX 7.1 on soon to be Power10 IBM servers. We have roughly 2000 connections across "4" UniData instances linked by NFS and NFA data pointers sharing a pool of 22 Power server cpu running at smt8.Our management wants to look into moving to a cheaper Linux environment and I am trying to gauge how good or bad of an idea that is and what that would look like vs our AIX setup we have been running for 25+ years.We also have over 2000 AIX user accounts on each system, several hundred AIX printer queues, thousands of programming calls using and parsing output from various AIX commands. If we drop this on Linux, what programming changes would need done to make the code run, outside of all the AIX vs Linux OS command vetting?If you have a large UniData environment, I'd love to get on the phone and chat if anyone is up to it? Relatively new to Accuterm but have an issue I've inherited from the last programmer....when using the 'required' option for data fields, attempting to close the screen with the top right screen 'X' returns the message that the field is required.  The documentation says the code should hit the validate and deactivate after the 'close' call but it doesn't seem to....as my debugs are not executing.I don't want to have to manually check / set required fields for every click - but I do need to allow the user to exit with the 'X' (CLose) feature without the error message.Anyone know what I might be doing wrong here? Hello everyone,We are planning to upgrade our UniVerse (UV) ERP system this year and also do a hardware refresh. We would like the hardware refresh to include running in a VM (we don't currently). Our current UV system is running on an IBM AIX server with Kaminario flash storage (~2TB) with our largest hashed file being 120GB / 23M records.Looking for any insight or opinions related to getting more speed and performance for UniVerse i.e. stick with AIX or go with another UNIX / Linux? Virtualize or don't virtualize? Nutanix VM or something else? Anything better than flash storage from Kaminario?Thanks in advance!

Hi allSimple question here on callx - D3 on Windows:I'm trying to do a simple "catch" whenever someone edits a file. So, I write a simple subroutine and compile it and flash compile with 'o' option (per documentation) I add the call to attribute 8 in the dict entry of the file: and proceed to ed(it) an item expecting my subroutine to trigger - but it doesn't WHY? Hello, Recently we are looking about Docker to build 'demo' environment of our mv'apps. Then, is anybody with experience of U2 on container ? LIST.DIALOG works so well I have 19 files to call the list. Rather than setting up 19 copies I have thought that I could have 1 LIST.DIALOG and set the ADD button caption and modify the TEMPLATE with a legend passed from the calling program. I think this would be done at the "Add your equates ..." just before "BEGIN GUI HEADER". Does this seem a reasonable approach?
