Problem:
The documentation for NetExpress states that for this to work it is necessary to have SCP and SAMBA installed.
Could something like Microsoft Services for UNIX be used in place of SAMBA?
Resolution:
Publishing or indeed using other options like verify server settings, unix publisher uses scp to interrogate the capabilities of the cobol system publishing to. This is unavoidable; scp has to be used for this.
Samba (or anything equivalent) is not needed for publishing. Importing a project, then that is when something that maps the unix end to a drive is needed. Something other than Samba should work ok, as it should be transparent to the Net Express IDE.
