Greetings,

Overnight, the following message started to appear whenever i do a run.

ASLM: Sempahore failure.

It is probable that licensing home location is not corrrectly set up.
If using ASLMFNET check that it is set to a valid path, otherwise check
that the location in the registry is valid (run aslmpclocate) and that
the location exists and has appropriate access permissions.

ASLM: Errno 1000

I am at loss on what to do! I found this link:

kb.microfocus.com/.../article.aspx

But when i run appptrack it gives me the message:

The Application Server license database cannot be created.

I tried reinstalling the Server 5.0 for Deployment but the problem continues.

How should i proceed?

But when i run appptrack it gives me the message:

The Application Server license database cannot be created.

I tried reinstalling the Server 5.0 for Deployment but the problem continues.

How should i proceed?

A few items to check:

1.  Is the license database located on the same computer on which Server 5.0 is installed?

By default this will be in location C:\\mfaslmf.

2.  Is this location accessible by the user running the application?

3.  Is the application being run on this same computer or is it being run from a workstation that is mapped to

    the Server computer?

4.  Please check the environment variables that are set on your system by opening up Control Panel-->System-->Advanced-->Environment Variables.

Do you have ASLMFNET environment variable set and what is it set to?

Do you have COBDIR environment variable set and what is it set to?

5. If you are running the application on the same computer on which Server 5.0 is installed then you must NOT have ASLMFNET set.

6. If you are running on a workstation on which Server 5.0 is not installed then you MUST have ASLMFNET set and it must point to the location of the license database using either a shared folder UNC name or a mapped drive.

7. If ASLMFNET is being used then also check that the shared folder or mapped drive letter is still available to the workstation. If the drive letter changed or Server share was updated then yuou might not have permission to read the license database.
