I am receiving the above C0000005 Access Violation error when I am trying to animate. This is in all of our development regions. We just upgraded to Windows 2012 R2 Server and it has occurred since that upgrade.

Thanks

What version and update level of Net Express are you using?

Net Express isn't certified on any operating system above Windows 7. That being said, it should work in most cases if you are using Net Express 5.1 with the latest updates applied.

For newer operating systems we highly recommend that you upgrade to Visual COBOL as this supersedes the Net Express product moving forward and is tested and certified in all new OS environments.

Thanks

We have windows 2012 R2 Server on each server, we upgraded from windows 2008 R2 Server. Our operating system is Windows 7 and we are using Net Express 5.1. I have also checked for updates and it is up to date.

I don't understand your statement about your operating system being Windows 7 when your servers are Windows Server 2012 R2. Are you compiling with Net Express on a Windows 7 computer and then deploying them to your Windows Server 2012 machines? If so then are you debugging the applications remotely from the Windows 7 machine to the Windows Server 2012 machines?

What update level are you on for Net Express 5.1? The latest is Update 16.

No, sorry, we are compiling on the Windows Server 2012 R2. Net Express is at 5.107

Please let me know what link we can use to update our product. It seems that the link we have for the automatic updates is: productlink.microfocus.com this seems to be a bad link.

In order to download the latest updates for Net Express you will need to login to the supportline web site and go to the Product Updates section. If you have a valid maintenance contract on the serial number then you should be able to do this.

The link to the supportline site is: supportline.microfocus.com/login.aspx

If you install the latest update and you still have the issue then I would recommend that you open up a support incident with Customer Support and we can investigate further but there are no guarantees, since as I mentioned before, Net Express is not supported under Windows Server 2012.

Appreciate the information and I will try this option and see if this is the fix needed. Thanks
