Hi,
I'm new to netexpress COBOL, having worked on mainframes for years. Is there a way, when creating screens, that I can make the value in one selection box dependent on a value put in another without having to code it in the COBOL program itself?
Thanks!
Can you be more specific about what you are using to create your screens?
Are you using Dialog System and the Net Express IDE or is this a .NET Winform or WPF application in Visual Studio?
Or is it a 3rd party screen design tool?
Thanks.

Hi Chris,
I'm using Dialog System and the Net Express IDE. I would like to have data entered in one field on the screen control what is entered in another field without the COBOL program setting switches, if possible. Say if user entered 'A' in field one, they could only enter 1, 2, or 3 in field 2. If they entered 'B' in field one, they could only enter 4, 5, or 6 in field two etc.
Thanks.

Sorry, but there is no way to automate this behavior that I am aware of.
In Dialog System you would have to code this logic explicitly by setting/checking flags etc.
