Hi , I migrated MF Cobol application from AIX 5.3 to 6.1. After migrating CPU utilization is very high in AIX 6.1 machine. Using SE 5.1 WP7. AIX 5.3 machine had 12 CPU units and AIX 6.1 machine have 22 CPU units.Could some one advice to optmize CPU utlization

Can you identify the processes that have high CPU utilization? Are these processes associated with your application, or other processes you do not recognize? If they are not part of your application, what are the process executable names? Were you using the same version of Server Express on AIX 5.3?

Identified the the process and those are application related. But these process did not consumre more CPU in AIX 5.3. Process name displaying as rts32
server express is same as on AIX 5.3

What kind of executables does your application contain? Are you building to .int, .gnt, or native executables?
Since the Micro Focus product version has not changed, if you are having issues with CPU utilization on your new AIX server, you may want to consider talking to IBM about whether there is any kernel tuning or other settings they can assist you with on AIX.
