This article explains why Deletion of Service Interface fields with many subordinate fields hangs for a long period of time.
Problem:
The process to delete a large Service Interface field in Interface Mapping Toolkit consumes the CPU usage at 100% for a long period, and causes it to hang for a long period of time. This problem is an internal one where the deletion function is doing extra unnecessary manipulation of internal structures, especially when deleting a field that has many subordinate fields.
