How to install a Development license Server Express

Development licenses control the use of the COBOL compiler. They are named "Server Express" licenses.

Please follow these instructions to install your Server Express Development license to be able to compile. There are 2 methods to install it.

1^st method (Preferred):

- In your Shell window cd to the mflmf directory, by default it is located here:  /opt/microfocus/mflmf

- invoke the command:   ./mflmcmd

- Select option 1. License Install

- Enter the Serial Number including the two letter and plus ' ' sign, and press Enter, example: 600000123456TZ

- Enter the license key part of the license - press Enter (Ensure there are no spaces at begining or end)

A message will show you that your license has been correctly installed:

 To verify the license installation, please invoke the command 'mflicense'

Select option 2. Application Server License System

Press Enter

Select 1 for License List

You will see that 5 runtime licenses have been installed for every development license you have applied. If you see the serial number for your Server Express license matches what you have applied above then the license is correctly installed. 

2nd Method: 

1/ Connect to your Shell window

2/ Invoke the command 'mflicense'

You will need to ‘Select the License system required’.

3/ Choose option 1. Development License System

Alternatively, you can cd to mflmf directory and run ./mflmadm, for exacmple:

- cd /opt/microfocus/mflmf 

- ./mflmadm

After Pressing enter, you will see the Micro Focus License Management opened (see step 4 below)

OR alternatively, you can use the command 'mflmadm' .

2^nd method:

1/ Connect to your Shell window

2/ cd to mflmf directory (by default /opt/microfocus/mflmf)

3/ Then invoke the command ./mflmadm.

The Micro Focus License Management will be displayed. On the Main Screen you will see the key shortcuts to install your license:

4/ Then please Enter F3 or /3 to install your license

 a) Enter your serial number (Serial No).

Note: Please include both letters and the sign at the end of your serial number, example: 600000123456TG

 b) Tab to the next line to enter your License Key (License No).

Note: The fields are not case sensitive and you may enter the spaces or not as you choose.

 c) Tap 'Enter' to install license on new machine.

 d) You can press F7 to refresh your database.
