How to remove a Server Express license from a development license database

To uninstall a Server Express development license, please follow these steps:

1/ Connect to your Shell window

2/ Change directory to the /opt/microfocus/mflmf directory.

Note: Your mflmf may be in a different path

3/ Use the command ./mflmadm to start the License Management utility.

4/ Enter F2 or /2 to bring up the license entry screen.

5/ Put the serial number on the first line

Note: Please include both letters and the sign at the end of your serial number if you are not using a Window machine. Example: 600000123456TG

6/ Tab to the next line and enter the full license key.

Note: The fields are not case sensitive and you may enter the spaces or not as you choose.

7/ Press F4 or /4 to un-install the license. A message will show you that your license has been removed.

8/ Press F7 or /7 to refresh the license database.

9/ Press Esc then "Y" to exit.

Note that with all versions of Server Express older than 5.1, the license can be suppressed only with mflmadm.

However, with Server Express 5.1 a new option U of mflmcmd allows you to uninstall a license.

In your Shell window you will need to type cd to mf lmf directory /opt/microfocus/mflmf

Invoke the command   ./mf lmcmd

Use the option “U” to Uninstall your license

Type your Serial Number and press Enter

Then tab to the next line and type your License Number press Enter

A message will show you that your license has been correctly uninstalled.
