Problem:

Getting Error message:-

1606 - Could not access network location

\\\\USERID$\\PRV\\My Pictures\\.

when attempting to Install Net Express V5

Resolution:

This issue is caused by a corrupt registry entry that the Microsoft Installer technology checks.

In the case the corrupt registry was at:-

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurentVersion\\Explorer\\User Shell Folders

In this case the value of "My Pictures" was set to the location above. Setting it to the default of:-

%USERPROFILE%\\My Documents\\My Pictures

resolved the problem.
