When customers are installing NetExpress it is important that they have Full Admin rights.
Most of the customers will say yes I do, but if you ever come across some error such as;
Error: Micro Focus License Manager Service is not running;
Looking into Services you will see that the MF License Manager is missing.
Cause: This error happen when launching NetExpress there is a chance that the customer has moved their product to a different machine and has not rights for the Registry- it is important that they do have right for the Registry as the software require to write in the registry when installing the product.
In previous wrap-pack such as NX 5.1_base customer will not get any error during the installation, but with most recent wrap pack such as WP6 when customer install the product will get an error indicating that the Registry Key: SOFTWARE\\Micro Focus\\NetExpress\\5.1\\XDB\\2.0\\XDB Server cannot be written.
Resolution: Please make sure that they have fully access to the Registry.
Check that they can just click on basic keys such as:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\Micro Focus
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Micro Focus
Note that the above are example and customer does not need to physically write in the registry.
If they get a message as Access Denied. Advise customer to get their IT to give them Fully Admin right.
