Problem:
When re-installing Server Express or Server for COBOL version 5.x using the install script located in $COBDIR, the following error is returned:
Install has already been run against this product directory, this is not a valid operation. Installation aborted.
Why is this?
Resolution:
During the installation of the product, the install script set a number of options. This warning has been implemented as there are certain options during the install that it are now unsafe to repeat. It is quicker and safer to remove the product completely and start the install over using the extracted product.
