Problem:

The following error is occurring in Net Express 5.0, Wrappack 4(WS4 :)

Form Designer requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or greater to be installed on this system. See Installation Notes for more details. Form Designer cannot continue.

Resolution:

WrapPack 3 (WS3) of Net Express 5.0 contains the fix for the issue with Internet Explorer 7 (IE7). However, the same fix is NOT unfortunately included in WrapPack 4 (WS4).

WrapPack 3 (WS3) --> NX3250030082.MSP

WrapPack 4 (WS4) --> NX3250040064.MSP

It is likely that those who have applied WS4 on Net Express 5.0 that did not previously have WS3 will not be able to start Form Designer and will see the error message above. If WS3 was applied before WS4, then this problem will not occur.

Please follow the steps below to resolve this problem:

1. Uninstall WS4 (see below the uninstall steps)

   a. go to Start | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs

   b. click on the "Show updates" check box to show all updates and fixes for each installed software

   c. select "Micro Focus Net Express 5.0 WrapPack #004"

   d. click on the "Remove" button

   e. reboot the machine (if prompted to do so)

2. Repair Net Express 5.0 (see below the repair steps)

   a. go to Start | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs

   b. select "Micro Focus Net Express 5.0"

   c. click on the "Change" button

   d. click on the "Next" button

   e. select "Repair"

   f. click on the "Next" button

   g. click on the "Install" button

   h. click on the "Finish" button

3. Apply WS3

4. Apply WS4

NOTES:

1) If step #2 is omitted, then it will not be possible to start Net Express 5.0 anymore. A Semaphore Failure (ASLM: Errno 1002) will occur.

2) When downloading and installing Wrappack 4 (WS4) verify that the file name is NX3250040064.MSP There is any earlier version of this update named  NX3250040063.MSP, which should never be installed it. has been replaced with NX3250040064.MSP
