Resolution:

After installation you need to change  $COBDIR/etc/cobopt

from

set GCC_LIB=/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-suse-linux/3.3.3

to

set GCC_LIB=/usr/lib/gcc/i586-suse-linux/4.1.2
