Problem:
The MFDS Service hangs when attempting to apply the Net Express 4.0 fixpack collection.
Resolution:
Before attempting to run the Net Express 4.0 fixpack updates updates, go into control panel and right click on the MFDS service, and change it's properties to disabled - then reboot the machine.
This will ensure that the service isn't started on boot up. Now there should be no problems in applying the updates. After they have been successfully applied, change the service back to automatic.
