I am about to get a brand-spankin'-new desktop that will be running Windows 7, which makes me very excited, except for one thing.

We are currently running Net Express 5.0 as our development environment.  My recent experiences with installing Net Express 5.0 have been, shall we say, adventurous.

Does anyone have any experience installing 5.0 on Windows 7?  Any compatibility issues?  Anything to watch out for or beware of?  Or does it run just fine and I am worrying about nothing?

Thanks!

Mike

Net Express 5.0 will not install and is not supported under Windows 7 nor Windows Server 2008 R2.

If you wish to run in either of these environments then you will need to upgrade to either Net Express 5.1 or to Visual COBOL which is the next generation for the Net Express product.

If you are currently on maintenance then you can upgrade to Net Express 5.1 for no charge.

You can request this upgrade from the Supportline web site or you can call Customer Care or your Account Representative and they will be happy to help you.

Thanks.
